2023 DELIVERY DRIVER AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE
~FILLED FOR 2023~
This position includes benefits of a paid lunch, allotted vacation time, select paid holidays off and use of vegetables for cooking and preserving!
All applicants will be considered for these positions but preference is given to those with prior delivery experience.
You must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to Be CONSIDERED.
Scheduling as follows:
Monday: 6 am - 3:30 pm
Tuesday: 7 am - 12 pm
Wednesday: 8 am - 3 pm
Thursday: 6 am - 3:30 pm
Saturday: 7 am - 12pm
The Job:
This is a key position on the farm centered around wholesale deliveries to multiple locations in Western/Eastern Massachusetts and beyond. In addition to weekly delivery responsibilities this position will also involve some buildings and grounds maintenance and some other miscellaneous farm tasks. A person who is successful in this position is self-motivated, detail oriented, able to lift 50+ lbs, a good communicator and maintains a positive attitude with good mental and physical stamina.
Delivery Responsibilities include:
Driving an automatic transmission 16’ Cabover Refrigerated Box Truck or other vehicle on short and long range deliveries.
Ensuring that the truck is running smoothly and is refueled when required. Report any potential issues with the truck to Emily immediately.
Making wholesale deliveries at different locations weekly - in Eastern Massachusetts and locally
Operating hand and electric pallet jacks
Hand loading and or re-stacking of pallets for delivery
Hand or pallet jack unloading of deliveries
Handling invoices for deliveries and making sure signed invoices from customers are accounted for and returned to farm office
Checking inventory of packed orders against invoices to ensure all ordered items are accounted for
Maintaining efficient and productive work in detail oriented tasks while primarily unsupervised
Buildings and Grounds Responsibilities include:
Weekly mowing and weed whacking of farm property until mowing season ends
Miscellaneous errands during or outside of delivery route - including pick up of packing supplies (wax boxes, pallets, etc) at different warehouse locations
Miscellaneous farm maintenance and repair projects
Pay: starts at $18/hour and is commensurate with experience

2023 FULL TIME FIELD CREW
~FILLED FOR 2023~
The people in these positions make up the core of our field production crew and will be responsible for a myriad of tasks in the production of fresh high quality produce from seed to harvest and pack out.
Positions start in the beginning of May and continue through October or November (part-time schedules may be discussed)
40-55 hrs per week, Monday - Friday
2 Saturday mornings each month (7:30 am - 12:30 pm)
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Greenhouse work including seeding, transplanting, filling seedling trays with soil, moving seedling trays around and out of the greenhouse
Field work including transplanting by machine and hand, hoeing, hand weeding, and managing row cover
Harvest work is mostly done by hand for the many vegetable crops we grow and requires a lot of heavy lifting, includes using sharp tools (knives / clippers), rubber bands for making bunches, and requires a lot of counting and meticulous quality control.
Post-harvest work including assisting the washroom manager with produce washing and packing activities.
Operation of farm vehicles
Clean up of farm waste and organization of materials
Additionally some tasks such as light carpentry, painting, and building or equipment maintenance will be part of these positions.

Pay: starts at $16/hour and is commensurate with experience
All full-time positions include benefits of allotted vacation time and four paid holidays off - Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, & Indigenous Peoples Day, and paid lunch time

2023 PART TIME HARVEST CREW

This position includes benefits of a paid lunch, select paid holidays off and use of vegetables for cooking and preserving!
The people in the part time harvest crew will work primarily alongside our full-time, full-season harvest crew. We work in a small, tight knit crew for long hours through variable weather. As a farm crew member you will be exposed to many aspects of a production 40-acre vegetable farm and will have ample opportunity to gain knowledge through experience. Farming is a very physically demanding job. The days are long and variable and require people with good mental and physical stamina. A person that excels in this role is a good team player, has a positive attitude and good work ethic, is detail oriented and efficiency minded, has a good sense of humor, and is physically fit.
May 30th – Nov 3rd
$15.50/hr for 20 - 35 hrs/week
7:30 am - 5 pm Mon, Wed, Fri
7:30 am - 12:30 pm Sat
General Farm Responsibilities:
The majority of the tasks in this position include harvest assistance - the people in this position will make up a specific unit of the farm crew, and will work primarily alongside the full-time, full-season farm crew for harvest 3 days/week
Harvest work is mostly done by hand for the many vegetable crops we grow and requires a lot of heavy lifting, includes using sharp tools (knives / clippers), rubber bands for making bunches, and requires a lot of counting and meticulous quality control.
Post-harvest work including assisting the washroom manager with produce washing and packing activities.
Operation of farm vehicles
Clean-up of farm waste and organization of materials and tools
Occasionally other field work may be a part of the day’s tasks- including greenhouse seeding, transplanting by machine and hand, managing row cover and light harvest.

2023 Part-time WEEDING & production CREW

The people in the part time weeding crew make up the core of our field maintenance crew. It is a flexible position yet is an extremely important part of the day to day operations of the farm. We work in a small, tight knit crew for long hours through variable weather. As a farm crew member you will be exposed to many aspects of a production 40-acre vegetable farm and will have ample opportunity to gain knowledge through experience. Farming is a very physically demanding job. The days are long and variable and require people with good mental and physical stamina. A person that excels in this role is a good team player, has a positive attitude and good work ethic, is efficiency minded, has a good sense of humor, and is physically fit.
May 30th – September 1st, with the possibility to continue into the fall
$15.50/hr for 25-30 hrs/week
5 or 6 days/week : 7:30 am - 12:30 pm (Mon-Sat)
Specific weekly schedule to be arranged with managers before starting work
General Farm Responsibilities:
The majority of the tasks in this position include weed management – from hand weeding to hoeing in field and in greenhouses – this position is critical to keeping the farm clean and operating smoothly
Other field work may also be a part of the day’s tasks- including greenhouse seeding, transplanting by machine and hand, managing row cover and light harvest.
The people in this position will make up a specific unit of the farm crew, and although you will work with the full farm crew at times, much of your day-to-day work will be within this smaller group of weeding specialized crew members
